Do I have to open my shop and trade the new extended trading hours?
No, traders are free to choose whether they wish to trade extended hours. No businesses are required to open unless they wish to do so.
What other areas have Sunday Trading?
General Sunday trading is available only in the Precincts of Joondalup, Perth, Fremantle, Armadale and Midland.
Who can trade extended hours on week nights?
Retailers across the entire Metropolitan Area can trade extended hours on week nights until 9.00 pm.
What about parking on Sundays?
The City has no plans at this time to introduce parking fees in the City Centre on Sundays; however, the normal rules about safe and considerate parking in the Parking Local Law 1999, apply at all times.
What will happen about cleaning?
Additional waste collections and litter patrols will be provided if needed.
What will happen about security issues?
The City Watch service provided by the City, which operates 24/7, will continue to provide patrols in the City Centre. The Ranger Services Team will also continue to provide patrols and they will deal with any poor parking behaviour that is encountered.
