Local History

The Local History Library is a heritage facility located within the Joondalup Library.
It was established to preserve, conserve and collate the environmental, social and economic history of the City of Joondalup.
It aims to provide historians and researchers alike with as accurate a picture as possible of life in the region from early Aboriginal history to the present day. Aspects of social history as well as developmental reports, geological, ecological and environmental information are included in the collection. Information is held in a variety of formats including hard copy, microfilm, microfiche and CD-ROM.
We welcome donations of photographs, diaries, letters, yearbooks, newsletters and memorabilia. See the attached donation form if you have something you think is valuable for the history of the region. If you do not wish to part with your items, we can copy them and return the originals to you.
