Frequently Asked Questions
1. Can I renew items I have on loan?
Yes. The library loan period of four weeks can be extended by renewal. Please ensure you renew your loans before the due date to avoid fees.
2. How do I renew my library loans?
There are several ways to renew your loans:

It is recommended you telephone a few days before items are due, to allow yourself sufficient time to return the items before the due date if they are required by another member. - Online
A password is required to access your membership record. Please visit your local branch to arrange your PIN. As with telephone renewals it is recommended you renew early to allow time to return requested items. - In person
Bring the item into the library and ask a member of the library staff to renew the items.
3. How many times can I renew my library loans?
Items can be renewed once by telephone or via our website. If a second renewal is required the items must be brought to the library for renewals with your library card.
4. When will my loans not be renewed?
Items cannot be renewed if another member requests them.
5. What are the fines?
Fines applicable are 25 cents per item per day commencing the first day after the due date.
6. What is the library loan period?
The loan period is four weeks.
7. How many items can be borrowed?
Members may borrow up to ten items for four weeks. This now includes DVD and CD's.
8. Can I borrow items when I have outstanding fines?
You may continue to borrow until the amount accrued exceeds $10.
9. Where can I pay my fines?
Fines can be paid at any City of Joondalup Library.
10. What do I do if I lose an item?
Advise the library the item has been lost. An account will be sent to you in the following days. This invoice will include the cost of the item, depreciated to reflect its age, plus GST.
12. What do I do if I damage an item?
Please notify a staff member on your next visit and they will arrange for an account to be raised.
