National Year of Reading 2012

Love to Read!
Reading is a fundamental part of everyday life. The aims of the National Year of Reading are to promote a reading culture, establish aspirational goals for all families to share books with their children and understand the benefits of reading as a life skill and a catalyst for wellbeing.
To highlight the benefits and rewards of reading, regular programs and events will continue and as a part of the celebration Joondalup Libraries have a variety of new events and programs just for 2012.
Saturday Story Times - Compliments our regular weekday story time sessions and allows families to enjoy story times on the weekend. These sessions will run from February to November 2012.
Baby Rhyme Time for Fathers - An extension of Baby Rhyme Time to allow fathers and baby to learn and bond in these popular sessions.
Reading Resolution Card - We have put together a special card that provides tips to help make reading a positive experience for all in the family. Pick up a card from any City library.
Membership Promotions - Throughout the year there will be a variety of member promotions for new and existing members. Library membership is free for all age groups and allows access to all of our resources and services, both in the library and online, including e-audio books. New members will receive a special edition library card in 2012.
Love 2 Read - Throughout 2012 we will be interviewing community members to find out what their favourite book is and why? Check out what they Love2Read.
