1. How do I book an Internet session?
Users can book a session in person by presenting their library card. Non-members are also welcome to use our facilities by completing a non-member form.
2. Is there a time limit for use of Internet?
There are currently no time limits on Internet sessions, however this may change if demand increases.
3. How do I book a computer with Microsoft Office Access?
Bookings are made in blocks of one hour either by telephone or in person. Bookings: 9400 4740

5. Is the Internet access free?
The Internet service is provided free of charge.
6. Is the Microsoft Office access free?
Access to Microsoft Office is provided free of charge. The charge for printing is 20c per page.
7. Is there any cost involved in printing from any of the Reference Library computers?
Yes, there is a 20c charge for black & white and $1.00 for colour printouts from any of the Reference Library computers.
8. Can I print from an external device (USB driver) using the word processing computers?
Yes, we have two printers available for that service (one black and white, one colour).
9. Can I access my email account using the Reference Library computers?
We currently provide free access to most web-based email services from the Reference and Local History Library
10. Does the library provide exam supervision services for University and TAFE students?
Yes, we provide exam supervision services. Please ring us on 9400 4740 for your specific requirements. Bookings are essential.
11. How do I post a question using Ask a Librarian?
If you have a question on any topic, we'll do our best to find the answer for you. Come into a branch of the library and talk with one of the members of our team, contact us by phone or email, or complete our online request form. You will need to enter your borrower ID and password to use this service.
12. Can I borrow an item from the Reference Library?
Items in the Reference Library are not available for loan but staff will check the database to see if a loan copy is available elsewhere in the library system.
13. Does the Reference Library provide access to current and back issues of national, state and local newspapers?
We do provide access to a range of current and archived Australian and overseas newspapers. Please contact us on 9400 4740 for more information.
14. How can I access the online resources?
To access our online databases you need to be a member of the library. Please go to the library website and click on "Electronic Library", then choose a database and type in your library card's barcode to access. These databases can be accessed remotely or in the library, with the exception of “Ancestry Library”, which can only be accessed from within the library. Additionally, you can search a selection of recommended reference websites at our "Useful Websites" page to further explore specific genres and topics.
15. How do I book a basic Internet training session?
The Reference Library is currently offering two basic Internet training sessions a week.
Tuesday: 9.30 – 10.30 am
Wednesday: 9.00 – 10.00 am
You can book a basic internet training session by telephone or in person. Bookings are essential.

16. How do I book for introductory online database training?
The Reference Library is currently offering introductory online database training upon request. Please ring us on 9400 4740 to arrange a date and time.
17. Who is able to use the Reference Library?
Anyone is welcome to use our services, but please be considerate of others as this is a quite study area. We request that pre-school children be supervised at all times.
