Community Transport
The City’s Community Bus Service transports older residents to nominated shopping centres, Joondalup Library or senior citizens centres in the City.
Two buses are available Monday to Friday for the transport of well and mobile older citizens who:
- Reside in the City of Joondalup
- Are disadvantaged in their access to transport due to frailty or disability
- Live in a residence that is a distance from shops or services
- Have the capacity to manage independently once at the destination
A small fee is payable for each round trip and some routes are particularly popular. The service is staffed by volunteer drivers and assistants.
An application form is available to register your interest to be considered for the Community Transport Service. There is also a visual assessment process to ensure the service is the most suitable option for your needs.
The City’s Community Buses are also available to be booked out by Community Groups. A fee is charged for booking the bus and some requirements must be met. All arrangements for use of the vehicles must be made through the Community Transport Officer.
Community Bus to Joondalup Library
Do you know of someone who would like to visit the library, yet no longer drives or finds it difficult to access Public Transport? The City’s Community Transport program offers older people residing in the City of Joondalup the ability to come to Joondalup Library and choose their own books and resources.
This free service is offered on the fourth Saturday of each month, between 9.30am and 11.30am. The service provides a door to door service.
