Sunday Serenades Concert Series 2012
The City is delighted to present Sunday Serenades, a series of fine music concerts held in the City of Joondalup Civic Chambers at 2.00pm on the third Sunday of every month from April to December. With an exciting selection of music including jazz, cabaret, classical, opera and musical theatre, there is something for everyone in the 2012 program.
Seating is strictly limited.

Outstanding Opera – 20 May
Hold on to your seats as two delicious divas, known as DivaLicious, dish up a delectable feast of fabulous songs and divine duets in their show Divalicious – Opera Rocks! Presenting an eclectic cocktail of operatic highlights with a twist, classical and popular songs, sopranos Fiona Cooper Smyth and Penny Shaw (both from WA Opera) will give you memorable morsels of music to tickle your taste buds and satisfy your senses.
Accompanied by perfection on piano, David Wickham, this theatrical show will also feature special guest singer from WA Opera, Robert Hofmann. From Mozart to Mamma Mia, Phantom of the Opera, Queen of the Night to Queen, anything goes!

Chamber Classics – 17 June
Pesaz Trio encompasses the spirit of modern chamber music. This talented group are a modern classical trio, performing original compositions and fresh interpretations of chamber works that feature marimba, flute and double bass. Through their arrangements of unique instrumental combinations, Pesaz Trio share with audiences the beauty and magic of classical music.
Weston Winter – 15 July

A perennial favourite, tenor Jay Weston returns once again to the Sunday Serenades Concert Series with an outstanding repertoire of timeless classical numbers, opera, musical theatre and contemporary favourites. Recently Jay performed God Save the Queen for the opening ceremony of the CHOGM celebrations, to an audience of over 100,000 people. Don’t miss the charm and finesse of this sought-after entertainer!
Memorable Musicals – 19 August
A hit at last season’s Christmas Serenades, the talented youth choir I Voci will return to delight you with another performance. This time around you will be treated to a showtime collection, a medley of works from all of your favourite broadway musicals and films. I Voci, being dedicated to performing choral music of the highest quality, will present a host of Rogers and Hammerstein favourites from popular musicals such as Oklahoma!, A Grand Night for Singing and many more!
Eisteddfod Winners’ Concert – 16 September
A favourite event in the Sunday Serenades calendar, this concert showcases encore performances by some of the most outstanding entrants from the City of Joondalup Eisteddfod. Witness our budding young singers and musicians in an awe-inspiring concert.
Heavenly Harp – 21 October 
Featuring Bronwyn Wallis on the harp, Angel Sounds is one of Perth’s best loved chamber music groups. The combined romantic sounds of flute, cello and harp will charm and entice! This concert will delight with beautiful classics from the Americas, France and the Mystic East.
Jovial Jazz – 18 November
Soulful blues, jazz, Latin and Motown are all on the musical menu for your enjoyment, presented by the ever popular Sue Bluck Trio. Jazz pianist and singer Sue Bluck will illustrate her versatility, as she showcases a wide spectrum of musical genres. The Sue Bluck Trio is a cruisy and sophisticated ensemble of vocals, keyboard, bass and saxophone. Performing a wide variety of styles from cocktail jazz, Latin and contemporary grooves guaranteed to get you moving.
Classy Christmas – 16 December
Join us for a splendid performance from jazz trio featuring Perth’s queen of jazz, Libby Hammer on vocals, keyboard and double bass. Be treated to a special Christmas program with some old crooner favourites, intermingled with tunes that will make you jingle! This will surely be a fitting end to one of the most talent filled seasons that the Sunday Serenades Concert Series has had the pleasure of presenting.
