Zarm – 7.00pm
Zarm, currently a four - piece reggae dub band hailing from the sunny shores of Scarborough, have been successfully touring throughout Australia for the last 2 years. Since forming in 2004, the group has been delighting audiences across WA, and has toured with local and international artists such as True Live (AU), The Black Seeds (NZ), Sahra Indio (US), Tosh Meets Marley Concert (JM), Salmonella Dub (NZ), Blue King Brown (AU), Mad Professor (UK), the music festival Raggamuffin (AU), and Nature (JM).
With a sound made from reggae, rock-steady and soul, Zarm's distinguishable grooves come from their experience with live shows, producing highly energetic performances that capture both old and new school sounds.
Zarm is currently in the studio working towards their highly anticipated debut release, due for next summer. They will be loud, fun and full of character, certainly an act not to miss!
Grace Barbé – 8.00pm
Award winning singer- songwriter Grace Barbé, is a musician with strong roots from the tiny Indian Ocean nation of Seychelles. This small island is home to a unique Creole culture that fuses Africa, Europe and Asia and Grace’s music reflects and celebrates the diverse influences of her home. With a colourful combination of Indian Ocean island styles mixed with reggae, soul, funk and afro-beat – a sound she describes as “Afro-kreol”.
Grace is the three time consecutive winner of the WAMi (Western Australian Music Industry) award for “Best World Act” of 2009 - 2011, She is an experienced and vibrant performer with a strong stage presence, with a large and loyal following.
With such a beautiful celebration of styles and themes, Grace Barbé’s music is a fitting end to what will surely be the biggest Music in the Park Concert Series to date!
