Voting in Council Elections

Make sure you have a say about who is governing the area you live in.  Vote in your next Local Government election, to be held 15 October 2011. 

Enrol to vote

In order to be able to participate in the 2011 Election it is important that residents and non-residents owners and occupiers are enrolled to vote. Enrolments close 5.00pm Friday 26 August 2011. Enrolment claim forms are available on this page.

Election Process

The elections are conducted as postal elections by the Western Australian Electoral Commission. 

Election packages are posted to all electors on the City of Joondalup roll approximately three weeks before election day.  Every person enrolled on the electoral roll will be issued a ballot by mail and invited to complete the ballot and return it to the City by 6.00pm on Election Day.

Election packages may also be returned in person by 6.00pm on election day to:

Voting in Local Government elections is not compulsory.
