Community Sporting and Recreation Facilities Fund

The Community Sporting and Recreation Facilities Fund (CSRFF) is a funding program offered by the State Government to assist in the development of basic sporting infrastructure with a focus on increasing physical activity in the community.
The CSRFF program represents a partnership opportunity for community organisations to work with the City of Joondalup and the Department of Sport and Recreation; each contributing one third to the total project cost.
Examples of successful past projects include:
- Floodlighting upgrades
- Facility redevelopments and
- New or replacement of synthetic surfaces
Clubs have an opportunity to submit an Expression of Interest form in April each year; this must be submitted to be eligible for funding from the City. For further information please contact the Club Development Team on 9400 4252 or via email.
Example of a successful project - Windermere Clubrooms
The Joondalup Kinross Junior Football Club (JKJFC) successfully applied for a grant through the Community Sporting and Recreation Facilities Fund (CSRFF) in 2007, for funding in the 2008/09 financial year. In partnership with the Joondalup Kinross Cricket Club (JKCC), the JKJFC applied for assistance to extend their clubroom facilities at Windermere Park, Joondalup.
As part of the extensions, the clubroom doubled in size with new storage and home/away changerooms and verandah constructed. The total project cost was $328,000. Along with a cash component, the JKJFC and JKCC supplied in excess of $60,000 worth of voluntary labour and donated materials, as part of their one third contribution to deliver the project.
The project was completed in June 2009 and now services a combined membership from the two clubs of approximately 1,300 active participants, not including the families and community members that will benefit from the facilities. The extensions were officially re-opened 24 July 2009.
The two clubs, in particular the project team, are to be commended for the way in which they delivered the project and the professional approach maintained throughout the process, from planning to construction.
