KidSport
The State Government has committed $20 million towards the Sport4All initiative. Sport4All will run over four years and aims to increase participation in community sport and recreation throughout Western Australia.
Part of Sport4All is the KidSport grant. KidSport focuses on enabling WA children to participate in community sport and recreation, no matter their financial circumstances.
The City of Joondalup has been successful in receiving funds from the Department of Sport and Recreation to administer the KidSport funding program. This fantastic new program provides up to $200 financial assistance to eligible children.
Funding is available for the winter 2012 season.
Individual Eligibility Criteria:
- Applicants must be aged between 5 and 18 years
- Applicants must have a Health Care Card or a Pension Concession Card
- Applicant’s primary place of residence must be in the local government area they are applying to and
- It is preferred that applicants register with a club that is in their local government area
Eligible Clubs:
- Must be not for profit and incorporated and
- Must have registered with the City
Referral Agents assist with the identification of children who would benefit from KidSport and the payment of club fees. Referral agents can also assist with the completion of application forms and their lodgement with local governments on behalf of parents. Referral Agents must register with the City.
