Sports Development Program

The City of Joondalup is seeking applications for its 2011/2012 Sports Development Program Round Two. Round Two applications close Monday 5 May 2012 at 5.00pm.
The program is designed to provide financial assistance to local district level sporting clubs for projects, programs and events that benefit the development of a particular sport and enhance its delivery to residents of the City of Joondalup.
The program is offered twice per year, with rounds being held in September and February.
Eligible projects include:
- New initiatives that can be seen to enhance the sports community profile
- Partnership developments within the community
- Increasing participation through targeting specific populations
- Developing pathways (junior - senior, highest level of competition) and
- New short term coaching appointments where evidence of the club’s continued commitment to coaching development is provided
The City will give priority to projects that not only meet the objectives listed in Section 2 but also align with the two key challenges identified in the Western Australian Department of Sport and Recreation Industry’s (DSR) current Strategic Directions 2011-2015 (SD5). The two challenges within SD5 that relate to the Sports Development Program are:
1. People Development
2. High Performance
