Eight Year Review of Local Laws
In accordance with section 3.16 of the Local Government Act 1995 the City of Joondalup is undertaking a review of its following local laws:
- Animals Local Law 1999
- Bushfire Prevention and Control Local Law 1998
- Extractive Industries Local Law 1998
- Health Local Law 1999
- Local Government and Public Property Local Law 1999
- Private Property Local Law 1998
- Signs Local Law 1999
- Trading in Public Places Local Law 1999.
A copy of the listed local laws may be inspected at or obtained from the City Administration Centre, any City of Joondalup public library or by viewing the documents below. Submissions about the local laws can be made via email or posted to:

New Local Law
Under the powers conferred by the Agriculture and Related Resources Protection Act 1976 and the Local Government Act 1995 and under all other powers enabling it, the Council of the City of Joondalup resolved on 20 November 2012 to make the City of Joondalup Pest Plant Local Law 2012.
The purpose of this local law is to prescribe pest plants within the City of Joondalup district that, in the local government’s opinion, are likely to adversely affect the value of property in the district or the health, comfort or convenience of the inhabitants of the district.
The effect of this local law is to require the owner or occupier of private land within the City of Joondalup district to destroy, eradicate or otherwise control pest plants on and in relation to that land in a manner and within a time specified in a notice given by the local government and served on the owner or occupier of the land.
The City of Joondalup Pest Plant Local Law 2012 was published in the Government Gazette on Tuesday, 18 December 2012 and comes into effect on 1 January 2013. A copy of the City of Joondalup
Pest Plant Local Law 2012 is also available at all City of Joondalup Public Libraries and Customer Service Centres.
