Accessiblility in Joondalup
Accessible Joondalup is part of the You're Welcome WA access initiative to provide people with disabilities clear access to information about a wide range of facilities in the Joondalup City Centre including restaurants, hotels, car parks, toilets and different businesses and services.
This project has been developed in conjunction with the Disability Services Commission, the Western Australian Local Government Association and Occupational Therapy students from Edith Cowan University.
It will help meet the needs of people with disabilities and the ageing population, as well as providing the opportunity for local businesses to develop new markets.
Currently, 35 businesses and service providers have been assessed in the City Centre, and this will further expand as the project develops. Businesses and community organisations are encouraged to become involved in the project.
Access Information for Businesses and Community Organisations contains practical information on improving access to places such as shops, restaurants, banks, churches and accommodation.
If you would like your business to be considered for inclusion on this web site, please contact the City on 9400 4952.
The You're Welcome WA access initiative was developed by the Disability Services Commission in partnership with the Western Australian Local Government Association, the Ministerial Committee on Disability Services, National Disability Services, People with Disabilities WA, Tourism WA and the City of Perth.
