The City offers a diverse range of classes and activities at the City’s Libraries and Leisure Centres.
The City’s libraries have a large collection of large-print books, audio books, videos, CDs and books in languages other than English.
Books on Wheels
This free service caters for older adults and people with disabilities who, due to frail health or limited mobility, are unable to reach their public library. The Books on Wheels service brings the library directly to your home.

The City of Joondalup Leisure Centres are fully accessible and present an excellent opportunity for people with disabilities to integrate and develop their physical wellbeing. The centre at Craigie has a state-of-the-art pool that is easily accessible and has a comfortable water temperature.
Personal trainers are trained to assist people with special needs. All equipment can be used by people with disabilities and the personal trainers will cater and design programs to suit individual capabilities.
City of Joondalup residents with a concession card, including pension, senior, disability or student card can obtain a 25 per cent discount on memberships, and a 25 per cent discount on casual use of the swimming pools and spas. Free entry is available for carers, provided they are not participating in an activity or taking the place of a paying customer.
The City’s three Leisure Centres offer excellent access through the provision of;
- ACROD parking bays;
- Large Universal and Accessible change rooms;
- Portable transfer hoist available for use;
- Access to pools via ramps, stairs with handrails, beach entry and submersible wheelchairs;
- Access to spa via stairs with handrail;
- Wheel chair available to assist patrons move around the facilities;
- Various exercise classes that can be adapted for someone with a disability;
- Concession rates for relevant card holders who reside within the City of Joondalup;
- Companion Card Accepted.
