Aircraft Noise

Noise emissions from aircraft are exempt from the Environmental Protection (Noise) Regulations 1997. All aircraft noise enquiries and complaints should be directed to:

• The Aircraft Noise Enquiry Line (Airservices Australia) on 1300 302 240 for all local, domestic and international flights (including helicopters).
• Pearce Airbase on 9571 2000 for all military flights (including military helicopters).

Trains

Noise emissions from rail are exempt and complaints should be directed to the Public Transport Authority Comment Line on 131 608.

Vehicles

Traffic Noise

Traffic noise from roads is exempt from the Environmental Protection (Noise) Regulations 1997.

Private Property Noise

Vehicles on private property are subject to the Environmental Protection (Noise) Regulations 1997. Where a vehicle is creating a noise nuisance on private property from misuse (such as from over revving the vehicle on a regular basis) your concerns should be referred to the City’s Environmental Health Services on 9400 4933.
