Vehicle Crossovers

Where a property owner would like to upgrade an existing asphalt crossover to either concrete or brick paving, the City will contribute toward the cost of the new crossover to a property provided it is constructed in accordance with the City's specifications.

The City requires crossovers for new developments to be suitably located to enable traffic to enter and leave the property safely. There are several specifications available covering residential and commercial developments.

It is important to obtain a copy of the specification for crossovers before construction commences. The specification gives technical requirements such as maximum and minimum widths, approved materials and shape. 

Consideration should also be given to levels, location, street furniture (including trees) and median islands.
