Bulk Green Waste
The new Bulk Green Waste collection schedule is now for clean, green garden waste only.
Utilise the City’s Waste Management Search Tool to find your collection date or view the Domestic waste and recycling guide 2016/17 to obtain the bulk green waste collection map.
What you can put out for this service includes:
- Tree limbs branches roots and small logs (sizes below)
- Palm leaves
- Any garden waste too big for your green lid bin
- Tree loppings and garden prunings
All green waste must be placed loose on the verge with no use of boxes, bags or containers.
Green waste cannot be placed on artificial turf for collection. Green waste must be trimmed in accordance with the following guidelines:
- Side branches must be trimmed off and be no longer than 1.5m in length
- Branches more than 150mm in diameter must be cut into 300mm lengths.
The material will be shredded and mulched. This mulch is used on the City's parks and gardens.
Smaller organic waste such as grass cuttings, bush trimmings, leaves, etc should be placed in your domestic green lid bin, as the content of this bin is delivered to a Resource Recovery Facility in Neerabup, where the organics are converted into compost. When stocks are available the public can collect a supply of free mulch, using their City of Joondalup tipping vouchers.
- Loads that contain contaminated material will not be accepted
- Contaminated material includes treated pine, pine logs, railway sleepers, sand, rocks and bricks
You can take your green waste to the Wangara Green Recycling Facility, 70 Motivation Drive, Wangara. The facility is open to the public from 8.00am - 4.45pm on weekends only and public holidays (except Good Friday, Christmas Day and New Years Day).
Four free entry vouchers for loads up to 500kg are sent to residents with their annual rates notice. If you do not have a voucher, a charge will apply according to the size of the load.
