City of Joondalup Commitment
The City of Joondalup supports local businesses in their activities and actively promotes Joondalup as an attractive investment destination.
The City is home to almost 13,000 registered businesses supplying the health, education, tourism, retail, finance and professional service sectors. These businesses service a growing regional population of approximately 314,000 which is expected to increase to an estimated 418,000 by 2031.

The City of Joondalup’s commitment is to provide timely and efficient service to local businesses by:
- ensuring that information provided is accurate
- responding to all written enquiries in no more than seven working days
- responding to all telephone enquiries within twenty four hours
- dealing with all enquiries in strictest confidence and
- establishing a co-operative working partnership with business in the City
City of Joondalup Services 
Our aim is to ensure the services the City provides will constructively assist to facilitate the advancement of businesses in a timely manner. We provide the following services and information:
- Policies and permits — building, planning and health, liquor licensing, trading in public places
- Development advice — planning and building matters and applications, including applications for Change of Use from one approved land use to another and Building Licences for fit-outs for tenancies prior to occupation
- Property advice — addresses, approved land use(s), and ownership (where appropriate)
- Home businesses — general information on operating a business from home, obtaining relevant approvals
- Food — registration of food businesses, advice and information on best practice regarding food storage, handling and hygiene
- Health — pest control, noise and immunisation
- Parking — parking zones, signs and road markings
- Signs — sign placement, size and issuing of approvals for signage (where required)
- Security, graffiti and crime — general advice, including referral to relevant agencies and CCTV in the Joondalup City Centre.
- City Watch — local street patrols (24 hours, seven days week)
- Traffic management and road safety issues — road maintenance and upgrading of minor roads
- Streetscaping and landscaping — general information

The City provides quality infrastructure and streetscape amenity and a rapid response to maintenance requests. The City of Joondalup is responsible for maintaining the City’s assets and infrastructure, including roads, car parking, footpaths, kerbs, drains and reserves, as well as waste collection from public places, events, parks.
Leisure and Cultural Services
The City of Joondalup provides a wide range of services and programs that are designed to make the City a better place to live, work and develop a business. These include:
- Three multi-use leisure facilities located in Craigie, Heathridge and Duncraig catering for all health and fitness needs
- Four libraries with free access to the internet
- The Annual Joondalup Festival which is the Northern Corridor's largest and most significant cultural event
- Other events, including the Valentine’s Concert, the Summer Concert Series, the Little Feet Festival and the Joondalup Eisteddfod
- The Freeway Bike Hike and Criterium Bike Race which both finish in the Joondalup City Centre and attract thousands of participants each year
