THE City of Joondalup has introduced a four-hour parking limit on weekdays at Neil Hawkins Park. Mayor Troy Pickard said the change addressed the increasing use of the Joondalup lakeside car park by train commuters and other long-term users.

THE City of Joondalup has unveiled a plaque at Tom Simpson Park in Mullaloo to mark an almost $1 million upgrade. Pedestrian crossings have been installed at Oceanside Promenade, and the path and carpark in front of the Mullaloo Surf Life Saving Club realigned.

THE Sorrento Community Hall’s $300,000 redevelopment has been completed. The hall, which was built in the 1950s, has been painted, had new windows installed, heating and cooling systems upgraded and more storage space added in the four-month upgrade by the City of Joondalup.

JOONDALUP council endorsed a digital strategy for the City at its meeting last week. The City enlisted former Tasmanian premier and Explor Consulting director David Bartlett to develop the strategy, which aims to turn Joondalup into a “digital city”.

THE City of Joondalup has backed a proposal for the State Government to take a more active role in waste management. In its submission to the Metropolitan Local Government Review Panel’s final report, the City supported the creation of a minister for waste cabinet position.
