Proposed Installation of a Fence and Gate at Hakea Park, Sorrento

The City seeks your comments on a proposal that has been received to install a fence and gate on the eastern boundary of Hakea Park, Sorrento (refer to plan below).  

The Sorrento Primary School has requested the fence to allow Hakea Park to be used by students as play area in a more secure environment.  An unlocked gate would be provided in the fence to allow continued public access to Hakea Park which will remain Public Open Space.

It is proposed that the area will be enclosed by an approximately 1.15 metre high wire mesh fence with metal uprights and metal rails across the top and bottom of the fence.
