3 Canham Way, Greenwood – New telecommunications infrastructure
The City has received an application for development (planning) approval at the above address and you are invited to comment on the proposal.
The proposal includes the following:
- A new 27m high telecommunication tower and associated ground level infrastructure.
- The monopole is proposed to be located approximately 8.4m from the street boundary in the south-eastern corner of the site.
- The new infrastructure is proposed following the decommissioning of the existing facility at 6 Canham Way. The existing tower structure will remain on 6 Canham Way, however the telecommunications equipment has been decommissioned.
The City is required to assess the proposal in accordance with the City’s Local Planning Scheme No. 3, Telecommunications Infrastructure Local Planning Policy and State Planning Policy 5.2: Telecommunications Infrastructure (SPP5.2).
It is noted that comments in relation to health and safety matters cannot be considered as part of the planning process. Health and safety matters are regulated by the Australian Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Agency and those licences include substantial safety margins to address human health. These legal requirements are in addition to the planning process.

You may wish to provide a submission on the proposal, as a written comment, by 22 August 2019.
Submissions can be sent to the City via firstname.lastname@example.org or posted to PO Box 21, Joondalup WA 6919. Submissions will be considered as part of the overall decision making process and if you choose to make a submission, you will be notified of the outcome of the proposal.
The application is required to be considered by Council at a future meeting. Any person who makes a submission will be notified of the relevant meeting date and details once it has been presented to Council for consideration.
