Arts in focus presents Arts in Isolation

Arts in focus usually presents a series of in-person workshops and professional development opportunities. With the current social distancing rules in response to COVID-19, the Arts in focus program will present a new series of online content, custom-made by local artists for families, parents and adults.

The program will be available online via an Arts in Isolation playlist on the City’s YouTube Channel from Tuesday 26 May 2020. A series of live classes will also be available including – Creative Writing with Laurie Stead and Jetsability- Singing, dancing and acting for youth with disabilities. The live classes will require registration via the City’s website and will be available online via zoom and google meet. Registrations are now open.

Following an Expression of Interest period in April, the following local artists were selected:

Singer- Stephanie Gooch Kingsley A series of 15 pre-recorded videos in singing, dancing and acting. Young Adults
Musician- Jerry Salonga Beldon A live music performance recorded in the Council Chambers. Seniors
Just Pacific Mullaloo A live performance recording of four songs from emerging local band Just Pacific. Young Adults
Joondalup Entertainers Theatre School (Jets) Joondalup A series of online performance skills classes for youth with a disability. 6-18 years with a disability
Musician- Danilo da Paz Duncraig Two live performances fusing Brazilian music with Noongar culture. All ages
Visual Artist- Jodie Davidson Marmion Three videos about creating artwork with found objects around the home All ages
