Aussie Backyard Bird Count 22-28 October 2018

Connect with the birds in your backyard, local park, bushland or a place in your local natural environment by participating in the Aussie Backyard Bird Count, supported by the City of Joondalup.

Community members of all ages are encouraged to count, name and record birds over a 20 minute period during Monday 22 October to Sunday 28 October 2018.

The Aussie Backyard Bird Count information provides BirdLife Australia with a snapshot of Australian birds at the same time each year to help them identify trends in bird communities as an indicator of ecological health.

The City has some great bird watching spots, including:

  • Neil Hawkins Park, Joondalup
  • Picnic Cove, Edgewater
  • Craigie Bushland, Craigie
  • Warwick Open Space, Warwick
  • Iluka Foreshore Reserve, Iluka.

Refer to the City’s Birds brochure for examples of common birds you could observe in the City. For further information visit the Aussie Backyard Bird Count website.
