City of Joondalup to host exclusive opportunity for unrepresented artists

The City of Joondalup has secured an arts victory, being selected as the sole stop in Western Australia for the national Artbank Roadshow.

The roadshow provides exposure opportunities for unrepresented professional artists and the chance for their work to be acquired for the federal Artbank Collection.

Joondalup Mayor Albert Jacob said the City is proud that it has been chosen as co-presenting partner for the national event.

“This will give unrepresented professional artists a valuable opportunity to have their work considered for acquisition and help boost their profile in the arts world,” he said.

“Artbank travels to each state to interview artists who aren’t represented by a gallery or art dealer.

“Federal Curator Dr Oliver Watts and the roadshow team will visit the Joondalup Art Gallery on 8 May 2019 to meet artists and consider their work for acquisition.

“The City is a creative hub which values the arts and the benefits it brings to local communities and is pleased to be the only stop on the national Artbank Roadshow.”
