Coronavirus (COVID-19) update

Based on the State Government’s directions, the following applies to City facilities:

LEISURE CENTRE
Craigie Leisure Centre will reopen to pre-lockdown conditions from Saturday 1 May. Masks will still apply during the transitional restrictions until Saturday 8 May.

Masks are required to be worn at Craigie Leisure Centre, in accordance with the relevant Directions from the WA Government.

For contact tracing purposes, patrons will be required to scan the QR code using the SafeWA app, or sign in using the paper register.

LIBRARIES
All regular programs and events will recommence Monday 3 May.

The State Government 2sqm rule on capacity applies.

CLOSURE OF JOONDALUP LIBRARY
Joondalup Library will close for scheduled refurbishment works from Monday 3 May – Monday 24 May.

During this period, members are encouraged to visit the Duncraig, Whitford and Woodvale Libraries, which will all be open for normal operating hours.

Items on loan have been staggered and extended to Monday 24 May and beyond. The Joondalup Library after-hours chute on Boas Avenue will be open for the duration of the closure.

ACTIVE RESERVES AND COMMUNITY FACILITIES
The City’s hireable community facility buildings will reopen on Saturday 1 May. Facility hirers must ensure they remain within the 2sqm State Government capacity limit, as well as ensuring attendees register via the Safe WA app or a paper contact register form.

Masks are to be worn at all times when indoors and outdoors.

PARKS AND PLAYGROUNDS
The City’s playgrounds and outdoor gym equipment, the staircase at the Whitfords Nodes Health and Wellbeing Hub, along with tennis courts and the Mirror Park Skate Park (Ocean Reef), MacNaughton Park Skate Park (Kinross) and Shepherds Bush Park pump and jump track (Kingsley) reopened on Tuesday 27 April.

Users are reminded to wear a mask and to practice good hygiene before and after using equipment, as well as exercising physical distancing by remaining 1.5m apart from others.

WASTE SERVICES
Kerbside waste collections and processing, hard waste collections and processing and bulk verge green waste collection will all continue as scheduled.

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
All of the City’s Community Development and Youth Service programs will re-commence their regular schedules from Monday 3 May. This includes the Community Transport, Youth Truck and RYDE program.

Anyone accessing one of the City’s indoor programs or a vehicle will be required to register their attendance by using either the SafeWA app or alternative attendance register, wear a mask and exercise physical distancing.
