COVID-19 – Modified Library Services and Times – Frequently Asked Questions
Subject to State Government direction on COVID-19 Safety Plans, Joondalup Library and Duncraig Library are now open. Woodvale Library is scheduled to reopen on Monday 29 June 2020. From Saturday 4 July 2020, Joondalup, Duncraig and Woodvale Libraries will reopen on Saturday mornings.
Customers will be able to browse freely as well as access public computers and printing facilities. However, they will need to provide their contact details to staff members upon entry.
The Click and Collect Service will continue from Joondalup, Duncraig and Woodvale Libraries.
Events and programs
Children’s and adult programs and events will be offered online (in a modified format) and the City’s digital collection remains accessible. The child immunisation health clinic will continue as normal at Joondalup Library. The City is unable to take bookings for its library meeting rooms until further notice.
The Books on Wheels service is committed to continuing service to the City’s most vulnerable community members. Library members can access free eBooks, audiobooks, magazines and streaming services.
When will Whitford Library be reopening?
Whitford Library will remain closed for refurbishment. From Monday 29 June 2020, Whitford Library’s after hour chute and Click and Collect service will also be closed.
How do I stay up to date with the latest information during the closure?
Members will receive regular communication through the City’s eNewsletter. To stay up to date with the latest information, follow the City on social media through Facebook or Instagram.
Borrowing Library items, renewals and fines
Joondalup Libraries would like to remind all members that items borrowed prior to Wednesday 3 June 2020 are due for return or renewal by close of business on Tuesday 30 June 2020. There are currently over 30,000 items due on this date. Your early return or renewal of your loans would be greatly appreciated.
