COVID-19 – Modified Library Services and Times – Frequently Asked Questions
Subject to State Government direction on COVID-19 Safety Plans, Joondalup Library is scheduled to reopen on Monday 18 May 2020 (with a maximum of 20 customers in the building at the one time).
Visits will be restricted to 30 minutes per visitor. Customers will be able to browse and borrow books and magazines as well as access public computers and printing facilities. However, they will need to provide their contact details to staff members upon entry.
Opening hours for Joondalup Library are: Monday to Friday, 9.00am – 5.00pm.
At this stage, Duncraig, Whitford and Woodvale Libraries will remain closed until further notice. Each branch will continue to offer a Click and Collect Service and the after-hours chutes will remain open.
Children’s and adult programs and events will be offered online (in a modified format) and the City’s digital collection remains accessible. The child immunisation health clinic will continue as normal at Joondalup Library. The City is unable to take bookings for its library meeting rooms until further notice.
The Books on Wheels service is committed to continuing service to the City’s most vulnerable community members. Library members can access free eBooks, audiobooks, magazines and streaming services.
When will the other City Libraries be reopening?
With the COVID-19 situation changing daily, the City is simply unable to say how long the facilities will remain closed. The City will continue to monitor the advice provided by the Federal and State Government and Department of Health. Updates will be provided to members.

Borrowing Library items, renewals and fines
All items currently on loan have had the due date extended until Tuesday 30 June 2020. All items currently on loan are able to be renewed up to three times, subject to existing renewal policies. For further information visit the City’s website. Until further notice, overdue fines have ceased.
