COVID-19: Playground equipment
Tuesday 31 March, 4.30pm
Following advice from the State and Federal Governments, the City of Joondalup has closed public playground equipment until further notice.
It is hoped these closures will keep people away from potential mass gathering points and help slow the spread of COVID-19.
Please note, it is not feasible for the City to fence off all equipment, so cooperation from members of the community is required.
Last week, the City closed its skate parks in Ocean Reef and Kinross, as well as the BMX track at Shepherd’s Bush Park, Kingsley.
As per the latest guidance, access to outdoor fitness equipment is also off limits. Public barbecues have been turned off.
The City’s parks and public open spaces remain open, but social distancing requirements remain in place.
The City’s number one priority is the health and wellbeing of its community and it will continue be guided by advice from the Federal Government and Department of Health WA (DoH) in relation to appropriate responses to the COVID-19 issue.
Anyone who would like to report instances of social distancing requirements not being met is asked to call WA Police on 131 444.
