Innovation is recognised by Local, State and Federal Government as a key factor to increase business competitiveness and productivity. Businesses that innovate are 60 percent more likely to increase their profits and are twice as likely to increase their productivity and employment.

The City of Joondalup Economic Development Strategy recognises the link between business growth and innovation and is active in identifying, supporting and promoting strategies and programs that enhance local innovation.

City of Joondalup Innovation Fund - Through this Fund the City of Joondalup recognises the opportunity to foster local initiatives that will bring and create new business activities into Joondalup.
Innovation Fund Overview
Joondalup Innovation Hub -The City of Joondalup welcomed a November 2017 commitment from State Government to provide $800,000 to support the establishment of a Joondalup Innovation Hub. The Hub will bring together the public, private and research sectors. With an initial focus on cyber security, other industries are expected to be able to access the Hub as it grows.
