The City’s website has been designed to meet WCAG 2.0 Level A as a mandatory minimum, preferably with Level AA features. The City aspires to Level AAA where reasonably practicable.

Information about the accessible features of this website are detailed below..

Screen readers

If you require a screen reader and do not have one, the following free options may assist you:

  • Narrator (Windows 10 – built in)
  • NVDA (Windows 7 and 10)
  • ChromeVox (plugin for the Chrome browser on MacOS, Windows 7 and 10, Linux)
  • VoiceOver (MacOS – built in)
  • Orca (Linux – built in).

Mobile platforms

Increasing and decreasing text size

  • Use the zoom and increase font options from your browser’s menu
  • Press the Ctrl key (Microsoft Windows) or the Apple key (Mac OS) on your keyboard and use the + or – key to zoom in and out
  • Press Ctrl on your keyboard and scroll with your mouse wheel.

Document attachments

Where possible all PDF documents on the City’s website are accessible. Historical PDF documents and some documents provided by third parties are not able to be provided in an accessible format.

Hyperlinks

Wherever possible, hyperlinks contain descriptions of information found in the link’s destination. Most links open in the same window with the exception of links to documents or external websites, which open in a new window.

Tables

Where possible tables are only used to display tabular information and are not used for formatting. Row and column headings have been identified using HTML for use with assistive technologies. On our pages which display many publications we have chosen to display these publications in a tabular format to allow ease of access to multiple formats.

Alternative formats

All City publications and documents can be provided in alternative formats upon request. These may include but are not limited to: Large print, alternative language, Braille, alternative file type.

Automatic translation

Your change switch languages on any page. Just select another language at the bottom of the page. The translations service is provided by Google Translate.
