2021 Valentine’s Concert – event information
Transport and Parking
The Valentine’s Concert is held on the picturesque grounds of the Joondalup Resort accessible from Country Club Boulevard, Connolly. As access to the venue is limited patrons are encouraged where possible to walk, carpool or utilise the shuttle bus service. See Accessible event information for accessible transport and parking information.
Patrons driving to the event should allow additional time to access the venue as delays should be expected due to increased traffic in and around the Joondalup Resort before and after the event.
To access the event site all vehicles will be directed by traffic management to drive down Country Club Boulevard, left onto Spyglass Grove before turning into the Country Club car park. At this point traffic controllers and signage will direct drivers to event parking, drop-off/pick-up points, ACROD and accessible parking locations.
The event car park opens at 4.30pm, please note any vehicles onsite earlier will not be permitted access. Event parking is available on the grounds of the Joondalup Country Club, patrons can follow direction of traffic controllers and signage to access event parking. Parking is on the fairways of the golf course; patrons should expect some sloped and uneven areas. All vehicles must be removed from the concert site after the event.
All footpaths, medians and driveways in the surrounding streets of the venue must remain accessible for residents. City Rangers will be patrolling the streets surrounding the venue and will issue fines for any illegal parking.
An allocated drop-off/pick-up point is available adjacent to the Joondalup Country Club, accessible from Spyglass Grove.
Patrons are encouraged to avoid the expected traffic congestion and utilise the shuttle bus services available from Joondalup Bus Station (stand 10) and the Edith Cowan University overflow car park (accessible from the intersection of Grand Boulevard and Kendrew Crescent).
The shuttle bus service will depart every 30 minutes from 4.30pm until 8.00pm and returning 9.00pm – 11.00pm. The shuttle bus service will operate in a loop stopping at both locations on each trip. The shuttle bus service includes an accessible bus that accommodates wheelchairs.
No pre-registration for the shuttle bus services is required. Where possible patrons are encouraged to limit the amount of equipment, they bring on the shuttle bus to ensure the bus can remain on schedule.
Accessible Event Information
The Valentine’s Concert is held on a golf fairway. Therefore, there are some sloped and uneven areas.
An accessible seating area is provided at the venue, available for patrons with a valid ACROD permit and one guest/carer. Patrons were required to indicate their requirement for this seating when purchasing tickets and to provide a copy of their ACROD permit in order to access a seating pass for this area.
Space is limited and seating in this area was allocated on a first come, first served basis and all seating allocation has now been exhausted. If you have a valid ACROD permit and have not registered for seating in this area, please contact the City to discuss your needs.
Accessible event toilets will be provided adjacent to the concert site.
Accessible Transport and Parking
ACROD parking will be available onsite in the golf club car park. Please note this is approximately 240 meters from the accessible seating area via a paved pathway. A valid ACROD pass must be displayed to access this parking.
A limited allocation of additional accessible parking bays will be available in the golf club car park for patrons who do not have an ACROD pass but may have difficulty walking. Patrons must call 9400 4921 to register for this parking and a permit will be posted out to them, registration for this parking closes on Wednesday 3 February 2020. Once this allocation has been exhausted no additional bays can be made available and patrons will have to park in general event parking areas.
The shuttle bus service includes an accessible bus that accommodates wheelchairs (see shuttle bus for further information).
Patrons are not permitted to enter the concert area prior to gates opening at 5.00pm. Any chairs placed on the green prior to 5.00pm will be removed by event staff. Seating is not reserved and is available on a first come, first served basis. Patrons that sit in areas that are unsafe will be asked to relocate.
Picnic Rugs will not be permitted for seating in order to maintain physical distancing requirements and allow adequate space between groups. Patrons must provide their own low back or high back outdoor seating. Low back seating will be permitted in the front section of the seating area and high back chairs will be permitted in the second half of the seating area.
Patrons with high seating will be asked to move by security if obstructing the view of others in low seating areas.
Please be aware the concert venue is a privately-owned golf club and resort complex and patrons should behave in a manner befitting the environment. Neat casual attire is a requirement. For the enjoyment of all patrons the City asks that mobile phones are turned to silent during the performance.
The Valentine’s Concert is an adult event and children’s entertainment is not provided. Children under 16 must be under close parental supervision at all times. Ball sports are not permitted in any area of the venue during the concert.
- Cabin-sized esky or cooler bags (up to 26L in size) are permitted
- Small backpacks and bags only
- Low and high outdoor chairs permitted in the allocated seating areas.
The following items are not permitted into the venue and will be confiscated:
- Picnic Blankets (for seating)
- Wine spikes
- Banana lounges
- Tents and sun shelters
- Animals (except for assistance animals)
- Dangerous items (e.g. weapons, fireworks, laser pointers)
- Professional audio and video recording devices
A range of food and beverage options will be available for purchase, please note food vendors will be relocated to the far side of the fairway to allow for adequate physical distancing when queuing or waiting for food. A list of the participating vendors is included below:
Picnics are also welcome; however, no wine spikes are permitted on the greens. Patrons are permitted to bring their own alcohol to enjoy with a picnic however all alcohol must be consumed responsibly. Any patron who appears to be adversely affected by alcohol and is behaving in an offensive manner may be removed from the Venue.
