Central Park, Joondalup City Centre

Joondalup Festival is a free, family friendly event held in Joondalup City Centre, with activities occurring between Reid Promenade and the Southern end of Central Park.

The best entry points into the event are from Grand Boulevard (Central Park Entrance) or from Boas Avenue (between Grand Blvd and Lakeside Drive).

A range of delicious food and beverage options will be available for purchase.

Accessible event information

Existing accessible parking will be available in the City of Joondalup administration car park located on Boas Avenue for the Friday of the Festival weekend. Additional accessible parking will be available in the City’s administration car park over the Saturday and Sunday of the Festival weekend.

The Reid promenade multi-storey car park is also opened for extended hours on the Saturday and the Sunday of the Festival weekend (10.00am – midnight) with accessible parking on the ground level. Please note a $5.00 event fee will be payable per day.

Accessible event toilets will be provided where all temporary toilet buildings are located on the Festival site. All temporary toilet locations will be clearly signposted at the event.

A demountable toilet building will be located in the toilet block behind the Lotteries House building that will provide further access as required. A permanent toilet building is located at the top end of Central Walk on Reid Promenade that also provides accessible facilities.

The Festival has an accessible path network with most of the site accessible via existing pathways. Please note there are some uneven grassed areas to consider on the Festival site.

The 2019 Joondalup Festival has one temporary venue, the Little Palais which is accessible via a wheelchair ramp with allocated area for seating.

Public transport

Joondalup City Centre and the Festival site are located approximately 400 meters away from the Joondalup Train and Bus Station. The Joondalup line runs South to Perth and North to Butler/Clarkson.

There are lifts and step free access from the station.

There are multiple parking options within the Joondalup City Centre.

Street parking is free within the City Centre on weekends (excludes street parking within the road closures in place for the Festival).

The Reid multi-story car park will be open on Saturday and Sunday from 10.00am – midnight for $5.00 per day

Free push bike parking will be available (exact locations to be confirmed).

Road Closures

To ensure the safe operation of the Festival it is necessary to implement road and car park closures around the event site. Road and car park closures are expected to be in operation.

Assistance Dogs

Assistance dogs are welcomed to Joondalup Festival. Please ensure dogs are on a lead at all times and that fog waste is cleaned up and disposed of appropriately.

Lost Children

If you find or are looking for a lost child, please head to the Constable Care Marquee located in the Dining Precinct (Fuelling Station).

Event cancellation

The Festival shall proceed “rain or shine” unless conditions become dangerous. Should the Festival be cancelled, rescheduling is not guaranteed. If the event is cancelled this will be communicated via the City’s website and social media platforms.
