Joondalup Business Forum: Growing Business Through Innovation
More than 200 members of the City’s local business community and key stakeholders attended the Joondalup Business Forum at Joondalup Resort, where the Hon. Karen Andrews MP Minister for Industry, Science and Technology addressed the theme of ‘Growing Business Through Innovation.’
The Minister provided a passionate keynote speech which outlined the crucial importance of innovation across the whole business community.
“Innovation is not just for start-ups, businesses at all stages and in all sectors must adopt an innovative approach to sustain their success.”
Minister Andrews – a key driver of Women in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) initiatives and one of the architects of the $1.1 billion National Innovation and Science Agenda – shared some of the Government’s key initiatives and programs, which aim to support Australian businesses innovate and grow.
“To ensure we have the talent pool for jobs of the future, it’s important that we review the current incentives to diversity and grow the skills base with greater impact.”
A well as delivering her keynote address, the Minister took part in a panel discussion with key local experts Glenn Murray from Sapien Cyber, Pia Turnicov, Chair of Women in Technology WA and Silvana Macri of Stay Cyber Safe in the fields of innovation, STEM learning, industry development and cyber security.
