Livestream Q&A with the Small Business Development Corporation
On Thursday 7 May 2020, more than 30 representatives of the Joondalup business community attended the City’s inaugural Livestream Q&A discussion with the Small Business Development Corporation (SBDC).
SBDC representatives Lauren Westcott (Senior Policy and Advocacy Advisor) and Lisa Legena (Manager, Business Advisory Services) shared some of the key issues and challenges facing small businesses in Western Australia and offered a range of solutions and advice.
The interactive discussion focused predominantly on the financial assistance available to business owners through the state and federal government’s COVID-19 support packages. Attendees submitted a range of questions and the following themes featured prominently.
- The JobKeeper payment
- How to maximise cashflow incentives
- Employer obligations during COVID-19
- Options for sole traders
- Regulations relating to commercial tenancy agreements
- How businesses can best prepare for the easing of restrictions to ensure they emerge strongly from the crisis.
