Family and Local History events
Local History hosts many events during the year to help customers navigate the resources available for family history research including:
- an Introduction to Family History seminar, which is an ideal starting point for learning how to research your family history.
- Genie Exchange, a volunteer-led family history research group, with participants able to seek assistance from experienced family history researchers. Available at:
- Joondalup Library, Local History – Fridays, 10.00am – 12.00noon
- Woodvale Library – Tuesdays, 9.30am – 12.30pm
Other events relating to local history and heritage may be programmed throughout the year as a Discovery Session or a Live and Learn session. Libraries also prepare a program for the Australian Heritage Festival which will be held in April and May. Details of the full Heritage Festival programme can be found here.
