Permanent Public memorials allow the Joondalup community to commemorate individuals who have significantly contributed within the City of Joondalup. These memorials keep alive the memories of individuals for those who knew them, whilst informing others of their underlying story. Temporary memorials are for people who have died in tragic circumstances.
Under the guidance of the Memorials in Public Reserves Policy, community members and groups may seek the installation of a permanent memorial in a public reserve for a person who has contributed to the local Joondalup community. There is also the option of applying for a temporary memorial. Temporary memorials permit items such as flowers, crosses, toys and notes to be placed on a site for a period of up to 12 months. The policy provides guidance on the installation of memorials in public reserves within the City of Joondalup.
