NAIDOC Week celebrates Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, cultures and communities and their contribution to modern Australia.

The Joondalup region is part of Mooro country and is an important place for Indigenous people. Every year the City celebrates NAIDOC week with a month long celebration of Indigenous culture in July. In light of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) the National NAIDOC Committee decided to postpone the July NAIDOC Week to 8-15 November 2020. The City will celebrate NAIDOC Week throughout the month of November with numerous activites including live theatre with Yirra Yaakin Theatre Company, walking tours of significant local Aboriginal sites, pop-up exhibitions at the Joondalup Library, a schools connection program, online Noongar Language lessons and much more!

For further information or to be added to the mailing list, please email the City. The official NAIDOC program will be available on the City’s website from 16 October.
