NAIDOC Week celebrates Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, cultures and communities and their contribution to modern Australia.

The Joondalup region is part of Mooro country and is an important place for Indigenous people. Every year the City celebrates NAIDOC week with a month long celebration of Indigenous culture in July. Past events have included children’s theatre, Noongar language classes, local area walking tours, art exhibitions, virtual reality projects and much more.

In light of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) the National NAIDOC Committee has decided to postpone NAIDOC Week 2020 (5 July – 12 July). Details of new dates have not been announced.
