Reserve library items

Library members can use the Library catalogue to reserve items up to 50 items.  You will receive an email alert when it’s ready for collection.

How to reserve

Simply go to your Library catalogue and log in to ‘My Membership’.  Browse for the item and place your reservation.

You will receive either an email notification or posted notice when your reservation is ready to collect. There will be a collection deadline, so don’t miss out.

Automatic new item alerts

Regular users might like to sign up for personal email alert notifications when new items are added to the collection.

Can’t find a title?

If you can’t find what you’re looking for, a Library staff member can help.  Click Interlibrary Loan Request and someone from the Library will be in touch.

Staff are able to track down items on your behalf. Libraries in WA and interstate have a mutual lending agreement to share some stock. In 2018, the State Library of WA and public libraries have made some changes to inter-library loans.

  • Items will only be available for requesting 12 months after purchase
  • Junior and Young Adult items are not available for inter library loan – some exceptions for series and YA graphic novels
  • Audiobooks and DVDs are not eligible for inter library loan

There are exceptions for people with special needs including disabilities and culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds (CALD). Impacts of the changes will continue be reviewed over the next 12 months. Joondalup Public Libraries will endeavour to adjust our purchasing to anticipate items of need where possible.
