Revision – Commercial vehicle parking
There are restrictions for home owners who have:
- Motor vehicles used in trade or business, heavier than 2.5 tonnes.
These vehicles cannot be parked or protrude onto the verge and cannot be parked on the verge for more than three consecutive hours between the hours of 7.00am and 6.00pm. There is one exception to this rule where the vehicle is a commercial vehicle and is being loaded or unloaded as quickly as possible.
In addition, these types of vehicles cannot be parked on a verge at all between 6.00pm at night to 7.00am the following morning.
Heavy and long vehicles (commercial vehicle) cannot be parked on the road for more than one hour unless engaged in the picking up or delivery of goods.
A heavy vehicle or long vehicle is a vehicle that weighs more than 4.5 tonnes and is more than 7.5 metres in length inclusive of any trailer.
