Be Digital. Explore the digital world.
Be Digital is the Libraries’ exciting new program of computer classes for adults aged 50+.
Commencing in March 2020, the classes to be offered are:
If you have limited or no experience in using computers or tablets, then this is the course for you. Learn the basics, including how to use a tablet device, search the Internet, open an email account and stay safe online.
Social media can be a wonderful way to stay in touch with friends and family, share photos and join online communities with similar interests to you. Learn how to use Facebook, Messenger and YouTube, and how to stay safe while online.
Too hot, too wet, or just too difficult? Stay independent longer by learning how to bank, shop, and interact with Government agencies online. And learn how to protect your privacy and your money while doing so.
Finding work when you’re 50+ can be difficult, and today you often need to search for and apply for work online. This course will cover the basics of using Seek and other popular employment sites, completing online application forms, and skills such as creating and using an email account. A follow-up workshop will be available for Be Employed attendees who would like tips on writing a cover letter, addressing selection criteria and creating a cv.
All equipment will be supplied. Classes will be free of charge, and will be offered in the Libraries and at other locations.
Further details and bookings will be available from February.
