Joining the library

Anyone can join a Joondalup Library. Residents of any age, visitors, schools and care centres can join Joondalup Libraries. When you join at Joondalup, Duncraig, Whitford or Woodvale, your library membership will cover all the services offered at all four libraries.

Individuals and families

In person

Visit a Joondalup library and ask staff for a membership form to complete.

Children under 18 need a parent or guardian with ID to join them, but don’t need their own identification. The City’s libraries require official documents showing:

  • Name
  • Home address
  • Signature

This can be a single document, such as a driver’s licence or a combination of documents which may include:

  • Driver’s licence
  • Phone/power/water bill
  • Health Care Card
  • Bank statement
  • Rent agreement
  • Passport
  • Proof of Age Card

If you cannot provide documentation showing name, address and signature, please consult staff for other limited or online membership options.

Join online and become an instant digital member. Get access to online resources and eBooks. Digital memberships must be validated in person with identification to borrow physical items.
