Libraries as a Gallery Space – Woodvale Library
Artist, Perdita Phillips, is interested in the relationships between humans and the nonhuman others (rocks, plants, animals, ecosystem processes) in our natural environment. In this work, Phillips explores the relationship between the native Quenda and the feral cat populations. She has used an early photographic technique called cyanotype to portray the tenuous life on our native marsupials.
This artwork was recently purchased from the City’s 2019 Invitation Art Prize and is installed at Woodvale Library.
