City of Joondalup Libraries are pleased to promote a range of online author talks during October and November. These event are made possible by Public Libraries WA, in partnership with Penguin Random House Publishing and Dymocks.

Meet Monica McInerney – Thursday 22 October, 6.00pm – 7.00pm

Join Public Libraries Western Australia for an online Zoom author talk with Monica McInerney when she speaks about her latest novel The Godmothers. Eliza Miller grew up in Australia, the daughter of a troubled young mother. With the constant support of two watchful godmothers, she always felt loved and secure. However, just before her eighteenth birthday, a tragic event changes her life.

Monica McInerney is one of the stars of Australian fiction. She is the author of many internationally bestselling novels.

Rising Stars of Crime Fiction – Thursday 5 November, 6.00pm – 7.00pm

Join Public Libraries Western Australia for an online Zoom author talk with journalist Katherine Firkin (Sticks and Stones), literary agent and comedian Benjamin Stevenson (Either Side of Midnight) and youth counsellor Kyle Perry (The Bluffs).

Katherine, Benjamin and Kyle will virtually unite to discuss their respective novels and publishing journeys, themes they explore, how their professions have contributed to their books and how our rapidly changing world affects their writing.

Meet Garry Linnell – Thursday 26 November, 5.30pm – 6.30pm

Join Public Libraries Western Australia for an online Zoom author talk with Walkley-winning writer Garry Linnell bringing the tragic love story of Captain Moonlite, an Irish-born preacher who becomes, along with Ned Kelly, one of the nation’s most notorious and celebrated criminals.
