Music in the Park returns
The City of Joondalup has announced details for the popular Music in the Park concert series, which will be rocking the suburbs again in 2022.
Concert One takes place on Saturday 15 January at Santiago Park in Ocean Reef and will be headlined by Perth pop rock band End of Fashion, with support from WA Music Award nominees Supathick and Kurt Carrera from the WA Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA).
Concert Two will be at Penistone Park, Greenwood on Saturday 12 March, headlined by Fremantle singer-songwriter Noah Dillon with support from local blues and roots star Ben Catley and Mikayla Boonstra from WAAPA.
Food trucks will be available from 5.00pm at both events, and concert-goers are also welcome to bring their own picnics.
Concerts commence at 5.30pm, and there is a range of free children’s activities and roving entertainment for families to enjoy.
Entry to both concerts is free, however the events will be ticketed to ensure the number of attendees can be capped and suitable contact tracing can take place.
Tickets will be available via Ticketbooth from Wednesday 1 December 2021.
Joondalup Mayor Albert Jacob said Music in the Park remains one of the most popular events on the City’s summer calendar.
“For many years, Music in the Park has brought local residents together to enjoy free, world-class entertainment close to their homes,” Mayor Jacob said.
“For many families, it has meant that they can leave the car at home, pack a picnic and stroll down to their local park for an evening where there is so much for all ages, including children.
“Despite the many challenges that COVID-19 has presented, for local governments and the entertainment industry alike, we are proud to continue the tradition of delivering high quality, innovative cultural events that engage and entertain the community.
“The City will continue to monitor all relevant directions relating to COVID-19 and will follow the appropriate State Government advice.”
