P4 Parking Station works
Visitors to the Joondalup City Centre who utilise the P4 Parking Station in Davidson Terrace are being advised to make alternative arrangements during scheduled upgrade works of the facility.
Works are scheduled to commence in late October 2018 and are expected to be completed by the end of November 2018.
The existing surface has significant asphalt damage from tree roots that have resulted in a loss of 15 existing parking bays within the car park, while other areas of asphalt have degraded beyond repair and need to be replaced.
The car park will be closed for the duration of the works and alternative parking is available in the nearby Reid Promenade Multi-Storey Car Park.
The City’s arborist and parking team have worked together to minimise the impact on the trees and maximise parking.
As many trees have been retained as possible and new appropriate species of trees will be planted and given an area to grow and minimise the future impact to the car park.
Joondalup Mayor Albert Jacob said with the adjacent Primewest development nearing completion it is important that the City now undertakes the works on the P4 Parking Station.
“While the City acknowledges there may be some inconvenience for workers and visitors to the City that use this car park, the closures are for a relatively short period and are necessary to ensure these essential works can be carried out,” Mayor Jacob said.
“The state-of-the-art Reid Promenade Car Park is only a short distance from the P4 Parking Station, and with almost 570 car bays it is well equipped to handle the additional demand for parking caused by these works.”
