Read, Rate and Review Challenge – 2020
It’s time for children to be the judges!
During the months of July, August and September the City of Joondalup Libraries are running a Read, Rate and Review Challenge for children.
The Challenge is divided into three levels:
- Picture Books – children reading themselves or being read to by an adult
- Primary Fiction – primary school aged children 7-11 years
- Secondary Fiction – secondary school aged children 12-18 years.
The reading lists are a combination of shortlisted Australian books from the Children’s Book Council of Australia (2020), and the most popular books voted by children in this years’ West Australian Young Readers Book Award. These lists are a guide and not intended to restrict children who are above or below their average age reading level.
After you have read one of the books on the list, go to the item on the catalogue and click on “Add a review”. Enter your library card number, rate the book with a star rating, and place a review – it doesn’t have to be long, just a couple of sentences about what you thought of the book. Don’t forget to add your age! (Adults can place reviews on behalf of their children too).
Every time you post a rating and a review you go into the draw to win a Dymocks book voucher.
Don’t forget you can always read an eBook!
Read the reviews from your peers to help you decide what books to read next, and inspire others to read the books you loved with your reviews.
What books will be rated the highest? You be the judge!
