Return of City’s Twilight Markets

The City’s popular Twilight Markets series returns to Central Walk, Joondalup over four consecutive Friday evenings in the lead-up to Christmas.

The markets will be held on Friday 30 November and 7, 14 and 21 December, from 5.30pm to 9.00pm, offering locally sourced, designed and created art, craft, clothing, jewellery, homewares and gift wares.

This year’s marketplace will feature up to 55 stalls as well as live entertainment, various food options and children’s activities.

The final market in the series will include a workshop where families can create their own Christmas wreath to hang at home for the festive season. A special guest from the North Pole will also make an appearance.

Mayor Jacob said the Twilight Markets series was the perfect way to kickstart the weekend and provided market-goers with a chance to support local creative businesses in a fun, family-friendly atmosphere.

“Since returning to Central Walk in 2013, the Twilight Markets have been embraced by locals and visitors to our City alike, playing an important role in adding to the vibrancy of our City Centre and driving positive economic outcomes for local businesses,” he said.

“Many market-goers, often on the hunt for a Christmas gift with a difference, will stay on for a bite to eat or a quiet drink at one of our local restaurants or bars.”

Street parking is free in the City Centre from 5.30pm.

On market nights, temporary road closures will be implemented on Reid Promenade between Grand Boulevard and Davidson Terrace, 3.00pm – 10.00pm.

Businesses are advised to plan ahead during this time to avoid any inconvenience.
