Sketchbook Project 2023

Categories:

The Sketchbook Project is a collaborative and visual experience that provides an opportunity for young people to share their own personal stories and passions with the wider community across Western Australia.

The project invites young people aged from12 – 26 to fill up a blank sketchbook with whatever art their creative heart desires – poetry, paintings, drawings, collages, recipes, origami…anything.

All submitted sketchbooks will be exhibited as part of the 2023 Youth Week WA KickstART Festival (Friday 14 April – Friday 21 April) at the State Library of Western Australia. Then the sketchbooks embark on a tour of regional and suburban libraries in an ongoing event called The Travelling Sketchbook Exhibition.

This year, Whitford Library is a Library Hub for Sketchbook Project.

How to get involved:

  • Complete the registration form by Monday 19 December 2022 and select Whitford Library as your collection point
  • Collect your blank sketchbook in mid-January 2023.
  • Fill it with your art, your way.
  • Return your completed sketchbook to Whitford Library before Thursday 23 March 2023, where it will be exhibited before moving to the State Library of WA.
