Welcome to Sunday Serenades 2024! We can’t wait to present WA’s most talented singers, musicians and performers at this beloved concert series.

This year’s Sunday Serenades program features a rich and varied range of musical styles and we encourage you to experience as many different genres as you can, to be delighted by something unexpected.

Kavisha Mazella
Kavisha Mazzella and Amici
25 August 2024, 2.00pm – 3.00pm

ARIA award-winning songbird Kavisha Mazzella is bringing her poetic catalogue of original songs to Joondalup for your listening pleasure.

Accompanied on strings by long-time amici (friends in Italian) and musical collaborators Johnny Reed and Peter Grayling, Kavisha’s angelic voice will take you on an uplifting journey through story and song, performed in both English and Italian with diverse influences that include Celtic folk, Portuguese Fado and joy-filled Romani melodies.


Swingin' At The Savoy
Stories of Swing

Popular local jazz outfit Swingin’ at the Savoy are set to bring you untold stories about the giants of the swing era.

Stories of Swing unveils a collection of weird and wonderful tales about industry greats like Ella Fitzgerald, Cab Calloway, Fats Waller, Louis Armstrong and more, from how they discovered their voices to shaping the history of music.

Accompanied by live performances from some of WA’s best swing dancers, this fast-paced and energy-filled show will have you cheering for more!

Channelling one of history’s most beautiful voices, Australian singing sensation Narelle Belle is set to bring you a magical afternoon of music and memories of the late great Karen Carpenter.

Supported by a talented 5-piece band, you won’t have to be a fan of The Carpenters to get goosebumps from Narelle’s incredible voice and haunting performance.

Don’t miss this world-class tribute concert that has wowed audiences across WA.

A Nyiyaparli man from the Eastern Pilbara, Bradley Hall is no stranger to dirt roads, fresh country air and long drives through our beautiful country.

Inspired by the places he’s been and the people he’s met along the way, Bradley’s award-winning brand of country music has seen him travel throughout remote WA, Australia and overseas, enchanting audiences with his distinctive voice and soulful storytelling prowess.

She’s a woman who needs no introduction – the angel-voiced Jessie Gordon is returning to Joondalup with a brand new show.

In a special treat for Sunday Serenades audiences, prepare to be transported to the enigmatic French capital as you step into Redmond Theatre.

Get ready for An Afternoon in Paris filled with romantic French songs from the likes of Édith Piaf and Serge Gainsbourg, and maybe even a macaron or two. Très magnifique!

The Basilios starring in Frank and Dean

In a special Christmas treat, The Basilios are back! We know you love these guys, so gather your Rat Pack and join Carlos and Paul Basilio as they delve into the hit-filled discography of legendary duo, Dean Martin & Frank Sinatra.

Take a trip down memory lane and up easy-listening avenue with this blockbuster tribute to Ol’ Blue Eyes and The King of Cool.

Tickets and Booking

Tickets for all Sunday Serenades concerts can be purchased online via Ticketbooth. You can also buy tickets in person by visiting the City of Joondalup Administration Building between 8.30am and 4.30pm, Monday to Friday.

Ticket purchases made by a valid Companion Cardholders are eligible to receive a second complimentary ticket for a carer or companion to attend with them. Please contact the City for booking support.

Important Information

  • All concerts are held at Redmond Theatre, situated in the Performing Arts Centre at Prendiville Catholic College, Ocean Reef. Get directions
  • Every concert will start at 2.00pm and run for 1 hour. Doors open 15 minutes before each concert.
  • Seating is unallocated and all seats offer a clear, unobstructed view of the stage. If you would like to reserve a wheelchair-accessible seating bay, please contact the City.
  • There is ample free parking at Prendiville Catholic College, including ACROD car bays.
  • The City runs a Community Transport Program that can provide transportation to and from the concerts. Find out more.
  • Tickets are non-refundable unless the concert is cancelled. If you can no longer attend a concert, you are welcome to pass on your ticket for a friend or family member to enjoy.

Apply for up to $50,000 to deliver a performing arts project within the City

At the City of Joondalup, we’re committed to presenting a vibrant array of cultural events each year, from music concerts to large-scale festivals, art exhibitions and more. In addition to our annual program, we are proud to offer a significant funding opportunity for external arts organisations to bring their performance or activation to our region via our Arts Development Scheme.

The Arts Development Scheme is designed to bolster the performing arts sector in our region, with up to $50,000 in monetary support available for professional artists and arts organisations to bring a performing arts project to our local audiences.

Applications for the 2024 Arts Development Scheme have now closed.

Key dates

  • 2024 application window: Monday 5 August 2024 – Sunday 8 September 2024
  • Assessment period: September – November 2024
  • Shortlisted candidates notified of outcome: December 2024
  • Funding awarded: January 2025
  • 2025 application window: August 2025 – September 2025

Who can apply?

To be eligible for funding under the Arts Development Scheme, the applying artist or arts organisation must be either:

  • A recognised legal entity with an Australian Business Number (ABN), such as an incorporated body, company, or trust; OR
  • An independent professional performing arts practitioner or non-legal entity, such as an artist collective, which has sought the services of an incorporated body (sponsor) to auspice the project on their behalf

The following entities are NOT eligible for funding:

  • Government departments or agencies
  • Amateur groups such as hobbyist choirs or dance groups that do not pay their performers

These groups are encouraged to enquire about the City’s Community Funding Program instead.

What sort of projects are suitable for funding?

All projects must be delivered within the City of Joondalup, providing opportunities for engagement with the local community.

The project’s primary medium should focus on the performing arts, such as theatre, dance and movement, spoken word, music, puppetry or circus arts. Film, multi-media, projection, and electronic arts projects will be considered where they can demonstrate how they engage the community in participatory arts experiences. Applications incorporating emerging, hybrid or other art forms are welcomed if there is a substantial performing arts component.
