Registration requirements

BeforeĀ proceeding please ensure that you have the following information available:

  • Microchip number – certificate/paperwork (mandatory)
  • Proof of sterilisation (if required)
  • Pension concession card (if required)
  • Photo of pet (mandatory)

Cats – apply to breed cats or renew cat breeding licence

Cat – register your cat

All cats over the age of six months must be registered, sterilised and microchipped. Cats can be registered for:

  • One year
  • Three years
  • The lifetime of the cat.

All cat registrations in the City of Joondalup expire on 31 October each year.

Dogs – request to keep more than two dogs

Keeping more than two dogs on your property requires special permission from the City.

If you wish to request for more than two dogs on your property:

  • Complete this application form.
  • Pay a non-refundable application fee.

Please be advised that you cannot keep more than two dogs at a property without an approved application.

Pensioner discounts apply to holders of current:

  • Pension Concession Card (issued by Centrelink or Department of Veteran Affairs)
    or
  • State Concession Card
    or
  • Both a WA Seniors Card and a Commonwealth Seniors Health Card.

Note: Healthcare cards and Department of Veterans Affairs Gold, White and Orange Cards are not accepted. Proof of valid cards is required at the time of submitting an application.
